Women in Tech & Data Science
While women comprise 57% of the overall professional workforce, there’s some work to be done when it comes to the tech space. There’s good news, according to the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT):
- With 3.5 million computing-related job openings expected by 2026 in the U.S. alone there are plenty of opportunities for women who are considering the field
- In the next 7 years computing-related occupations are projected to grow by 19%, compared to other occupations which are projected to grow by just 7%
- Many technology professions are predicted to grow at a faster rate than the STEM average, including Software Developers/Applications (31%), Information Security Analysts (29%), Computer & Information Research Scientists (19%), Web Developers (15%), Database Administrators (12%), and Software Developers/Systems Software (11%)
